Good evening, thank you all for attending the 15th Eaglesham Scout group AGM without further to do we will get started

Thank you to 121 Clarkston Scout group for allowing us to use their Hall

There was no Apologies for absence

The minutes have been previously reviewed by the group trustee board at their first meeting after the previous AGM, and so I propose that the minutes are taken as red and asked the group to agree that they are true record of the meeting

Governance topics

Notes to the group members present that this part of the meeting is necessary, part to make sure that the charity foundations are in good order

We adopt the module constitution from Scottish valuation from policy organisation and rules

In line with recommendations from Scouts Scotland, I propose that we adopt the module constitution from chapter 5 of the Scottish validation from policies, organisation and rules. A copy of this was available for review and inspection prior to the meeting and the copy is also available on our website

Note the group financial year

Members of the group Scouts are asked to note that we register with Oscar as a Scottish charity charity number and our charity financial year is for September to 30th of August

Agrees a number of members that may be elected to the trustee board

The 15th Eaglesham Scouts, must agree that it’s AGM. The number of people that can be elected to the trustee board. The recommendations for outgoing trustee members is for 4 people can be elected. I propose that the group 15th Eaglesham scout group approves that recommendation

Agree the constitution for each of the 15th group, Scout group, including this AGM meetings of the group trustee board meetings of any subcommittee

The 15th Eaglesham Scout group must agree at this AGM, the quorum – the minimum number of 15th Scout group members that must be present at the meeting of the 15th Eaglesham Scout group. The recommendation from the outgoing trustee board is that the quorum should be set at 10 persons the 15th Scout group is asked to approve That recommendation.

The 15th Scout group must agree at this AGM to quorum of trustee board meetings and any subcommittee meetings. UK scouting has adopted the charity commission statement of good practice that the trustee board quorum should be set at one third of the trustee members, plus one that the sub committee Quorum should be set at one third of the sub committee members, plus one. The recommendations from the outgoing trusting board is that the quorum should be set according to the charity commission. Good practice statement. The 15th Eaglesham Scout group is asked to approve that recommendation.

Group Scout Leader review of Scout in the group

Shirley give the review as GSL

Scout movement in the UK is making a lot of changes

GSL is group, Scout Leader this will be now changed to group lead volunteer

Explorer scout cub. Beaver Leader will now be changed to team leader volunteer

Assistant leaders and section assistance will now be changed to team member volunteer

The 15th as a group. We have managed to keep it going by using the 121 Scout Hall & Eaglesham bowling club, which we usually appreciate. we will hopefully get back into the village this year, which would be wonderful to have our own hall back.

Our leaders are doing a brilliant job at keeping each of the sections going and running a very full program which you will hear about in a minute from them.

If anyone would like to become a leader, please don’t be afraid to approach me, and if you would like to come onto the trustees board pleased just approach me.

Shirley gave a report of what the Explorers had been up to this year and numbers

To receive and consider the annual report for the group trustee board, including the annual statement of account

The group trustee board has approved. The annual report and statement of accounts and accounts and report on account has been received from an independent examiner.

Shirley asked the group treasurer to give their explanation of the statement of accounts

I will hand hand over to Juan who will do The Treasurer report and explain the statement of account

No one present who wishes to become the group secretary so the position was not filled

Juan Merrill is formally named to be the treasurer for the 15th Eaglesham Scout group

The group Treasure is an elected appointment and as required Juan has been named formally opposed in second, since there is no other nominees by the closing date, I show her hands is required to approve Juan election
